Church

The Parish Church, dedicated to All Saints, is a plain oblong building with round headed windows, erected in lieu of the old church, situated at Sockburn. The parish register commences in 1588. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the deanery of Stockton, and patronage of the master of Sherburn Hospital. It is valued in the Liber Regis at £3 18s. 1½; gross income about £100 per annum. The glebe consists of a parsonage house, unfit for residence, and about a rood of garden land. Rev. William H. Elliott, M.A., vicar.
