The church of St. Mary is an ancient stone building, principally Gothic, although some parts of the edifice bear traces of Norman and also of the Early English or Pointed styles; it was thoroughly repaired and restored in 1853; it has a chancel, nave, ailses, tower with three bells, clock and organ. The chancel contains some very handsome windows of stained glass. The register dates from the year 1572. The living is a rectory, yearly value £1,200, with residence, in the gift of the Bishop of the diocese, and held by the Rev. W.G. Harrison.
