The living is a perpetual curacy, in the patronage of the incumbent of Heworth, and worth about £150 per annum. Rev. Edward Hussey Adamson, M.A., perpetual curate. A neat parsonage house has been recently erected at a cost of £900. [Whellan's History, Topography and Directory of Durham (and Newcastle) (1856), pages 804-05.]
