Church

The church of St. Michael and All Angels is an edifice of stone, with freestone dressings, built at a cost of £3,000 and consecrated in 1870; it consists of chancel, nave of three bays, aisles and a south porch; there are 550 sittings. The register dates from the year 1870. The living is a vicarage, yearly value £300, with residence, in the gift of the Crown and the Bishop of Durham Alternately, and held since 1869 by the Rev.
