Church

The Church is a plain stone edifice, erected in 1746, and consists of nave and chancel; the windows in the latter are of stained glass, bearing representations of the four Evangelists, and were presented by the present rector. The living is a rectory, in the gift of the Bishop of Durham, and incumbency of the Rev. James Waters. [Whellan's History, Topography and Directory of Durham (and Newcastle) (1856), page 639.]
