Gateshead Observer 14/6/1845 [death] At the Vicarage of Hartburn, on Thursday, the Rev. John Hodgson, vicar of that parish, and author of the History of Northumberland, aged 66. The deceased was well known in the literary world, and few writers have more ably or agreeably illustrated the antiquities and topography of his country. He was also a most estimable man in every relation of life.
